Come to Golf Tourney

Our commitment to the cause of cancer research was sparked from the tragic loss of fellow high school classmate Andrew Torres almost a year ago.

His courageous battle with liver cancer was unlike any other and provided many of us with inspiration. There were numerous instances of people meeting Andrew and never knowing he had cancer because he constantly kept an upbeat attitude. He was always smiling from ear to ear and acting like nothing was wrong even as the cancer spread. Never once did he complain about his medication, his change in lifestyle or the pain he felt throughout his body.

In honor of Andrew, we are organizing the Andrew Torres Memorial Golf Tournament being held on April 18 at the La Cañada Country Club. The day will celebrate the life of Andrew as well as raise needed funds for cancer research. All proceeds will support a new research project to find markers for liver cancer at the Molecular Neurology Laboratory of Huntington Medical Research Institutes in Pasadena.

Please come out for a round of golf (don't worry if you aren't good. Word has it that Andrew wasn't either), join us for dinner and the silent auction, purchase a tee sign or volunteer. We hope to see you and fellow classmates there.

Thank you in advance for your support and generosity. And thank you to the Valley Sun for sponsoring this event.
